General Registration - Genius

How to Register for Courses

Campus Faculty & Staff

All faculty and staff training is available through the Learning & Development Learning Portal, Genius. Use the portal to explore upcoming courses by name, date, or Institutional Values.

To register, follow these steps:

  1. Log in with your Georgia Tech credentials.
  2. Select View Course Catalog from the navigation menu on the left.
  3. Enter the name of the course in the Find Course search bar at the top of the page. The search results will appear in tiles.
  4. To confirm the course date, duration, and time, click the course tile that best matches your desired results.
  5. When you are ready to register, close out the tile and click Register to enroll in the course. Your course will automatically be added to your shopping cart.
  6. Click Proceed to Checkout in the upper, right corner.
  7. Review your selected courses and click Confirm to confirm your enrollment.
  8. Upon successful registration, you will receive an email from help@training.gatech.edu once your registraion is confirmed.

Do I Want to Lead Others? Introduction to People Leadership

What is people leadership, and do you really want the responsibilities that accompany it? In this leadership 101 session, participants explore the different styles of leadership and discuss opportunities to develop people-leadership skills. Participants will engage in self-reflection to consider if they want to become a people leader at Tech. This workshop is intended for employees who do not currently have direct reports and are exploring people leadership as an option.

How to be an Effective Remote Manager

As a manager of a remote or hybrid team, you may face unique challenges, but you also have unique opportunities to help your team thrive. In this course, you’ll get advice for leaders who are overseeing remote teams by outlining common mistakes. Diving into the following topics: the importance of fun in a remote workplace, methods for hosting meetings, allowing natural conversation to take place, the importance of setting a tone and gathering the right people together, the importance of being vulnerable with your team by way of transparency and empathy and some classic leadership missteps. After this course, you’ll have tools to help you lead with more confidence in a remote/hybrid environment.

Leading Congruently: GT Values

Live our values every day by taking a deep dive into the behaviors necessary to ensure that our daily interactions are aligned with our Institute values. This course will explore practical ways in which participants can problem-solve and incorporate Georgia Tech values into discussion when they run into conflicts and challenges.

Navigating Conflict and Challenging Conversations

Navigating Conflict and Challenging Conversations is a comprehensive course designed to equip individuals with the skills and strategies necessary to effectively manage and resolve conflicts. Participants will learn to approach difficult conversations with confidence, empathy, and assertiveness, transforming potential tension points into opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Leading @Tech: Emotional Intelligence

The emotional intelligence lab helps participants develop tools that help achieve desired professional and personal results. The course explores a four-quadrant model that helps participants become more aware of their own emotions and the emotions of others and then use that information to proactively manage self-confidence and relationships. Participants will use the four-quadrant model to work through real-life case studies and create emotionally intelligent experiments that apply specifically to their goals. Finally, a peer coach will assist participants as they continue their emotional intelligence journey.

This course is a condensed version of the Hiring Manager Certificate program. Participants will get a high-level view of their responsibilities as a hiring manager and the interview, hiring, and onboarding process. Through activities and in-class access to HR representatives, hiring managers will have the opportunity to ask questions, work through scenarios, and glean insight from other hiring managers.
